  4. "The four phases of EasyRite are (1) LOAD and then REVIEW a FILE; "
  5. "(2) CREATE a FILE; (3) EDIT a FILE; and (4) PRINT a HARD COPY. An"
  6. "EDITED EasyRite File or a NEW FILE may be SAVED to any DRIVE."

  8. "PHASE I: LOAD a FILE. You will be asked to specify a FILENAME. This"
  9. "is a unique identification of an EasyRite generated FILE on a DISK."
  10. "If you are not certain of the FILENAMEs on the DISK -- Check up! It"
  11. "is recommended you select the DISK Directory Function and examine"
  12. "the FILENAMEs shown.  When loading a FILE from THIS DISK, or from the"
  13. "default drive if this disk is in DRIVE A, simply enter the FILENAME."
  14. "No drive prefix is REQUIRED but it will not hurt to use A:FILENAME."
  15. "                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"
  16. "REVIEW: When the file is loaded, you will be returned to the CONTROL"
  17. "MENU.  To see the file, select the REVIEW function.  The file will be"
  18. "presented in 20 line pages.  You may move through the pages on prompt"
  19. "by pressing the ENTER key. At the file end, the CONTROL MENU appears."

  21. "CREATE: This selection will put you in a WORD PROCESSING mode which"
  22. "will permit you to prepare a file, letter, memo or other document, up"
  23. "to 200 lines long in ten 20 line pages.  The INPUT is protected and"
  24. "will only accept standard ALPHA-NUMERIC entries. The CURSOR and EDIT"
  25. "keys are inoperative. Typing errors made while EDITING are removed by"
  26. "using the BACK SPACE key. At the end of each page you will be asked if"
  27. "the page is correct. If you respond NO, you will be asked which line"
  28. "is to be corrected. You will then be directed to that line. The WHOLE"
  29. "LINE must be entered with the correction made. The cycle repeats and"
  30. "the page will change when you respond YES. To end a page, or file be-"
  31. "fore the 200th line, enter the word END at the beginning of a line. It"
  32. "is possible to review the file immediately with the REVIEW selection."
  33. "You may also SAVE the file immediately, or SAVE it after REVIEW, when "
  34. "you have corrected and EDITED the FILE. Select SAVE from CONTROL MENU."

  36. "EDIT: This selection will display a LOAD or CREATE file in the EDIT"
  37. "mode. The cursor appears at the first position of the page. Pressing"
  38. "ENTER will leave the line UNCHANGED and move the cursor to the next"
  39. "line. If you make a change, you must enter the ENTIRE LINE. You may"
  40. "EDIT all lines to the end of the page.  You may add lines, up to 200."

  42. "If you add lines to a LOAD or CREATE file while editing it,  then"
  43. "the NEW file must be terminated by the word END at the beginning of a "
  44. "new line. An EDITED file may be SAVED and REVIEWED.  If you save an"
  45. "EDITED file using a FILENAME already existing on the disk, the old    "
  46. "file will be destroyed and replaced with the new one. BE CAREFUL!  If"
  47. "you wish to save the file on another DRIVE, enter the drive letter "
  48. "before the FILENAME. i.e.; B:FileName.Ltr   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"
  49. "~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"
  50. "PRINT: This selection will bring up a HARD COPY Selector MENU. You"
  51. "may select one of three type styles and pitches. You may return to"
  52. "the CONTROL MENU; Test the PRINTER (If you have printers connected to"
  53. "more than one PARALLEL PORT); or you may read the DISK Directories."
  54. "If you use the TEST PRINTER selection, make certain you TOGGLE the"
  55. "routine to show the CORRECT printer. Should LPT2: not have a printer"
  56. "connected and you give the print command with LPT2: selected, you may"
  57. "lock up the computer.                                         ~~~~~~~"

  59. "QUIT: Leave the program only through this command. If you should use"
  60. "CONTROL/BREAK, you will lose CURSOR and SCROLL control. Should you"
  61. "select QUIT and reconsider, a CONTROL MENU option is offered."
